The demo runs on virtual credits—no card details, no hidden charges. You start with a play balance and can spin as much as you want to get a feel for the collecting birds and corner bomb mechanics.
This is the identical version to real money play. Same RTP, same math model, same features. ELK Studios doesn't rig demos—the game was last updated on 14 May 2025, and both modes run on the same build. The CollectR mechanic works exactly as it would with real stakes.
No registration needed. Just load and play. The X-iter feature purchases work in demo too, so you can test the Alien Invasion or Lost in Space modes without spending actual money.
One practical point: demo balance resets if you run out, so you can experiment with different bet levels and the various bonus triggers without consequence. Useful for understanding how the Power Clash or Space Station tunnels actually play out before you commit.
ELK's taken their collecting birds mechanic and thrown it into a blender with space stations, teleportation portals, alien invasions, black holes, and something called a "Power Clash" – Pirots 4 doesn't so much evolve the series as it does pile on systems until the whole thing threatens to collapse under its own weight. This is the CollectR collaboration entry, and you can tell they had a whiteboard session that got properly out of hand. Where Pirots 3 refined, this one explodes the grid from 6x6 to 8x8, adds tunnels through corner stations, lets birds teleport between portals, and occasionally sucks everything into a black hole just to shuffle the deck. Whether all this cosmic chaos creates something brilliant or just bewildering depends entirely on whether you think the collecting birds concept needed seven more moving parts – and whether that 94% RTP sits right with you.

Choose a Casino to PlayBefore you start spinning Pirots 4, you'll need to set your bet. Click the bet amount (displayed as "BET €1.00" by default) in the bottom right corner. This opens a grid showing 12 preset options ranging from €0.20 to €100.00. Select your stake—it glows cyan blue when active—then close the overlay by clicking the X or anywhere outside the menu.
The large circular button with refresh arrows in the bottom right is your spin control. Click it once for a single spin. Here's the non-obvious bit: there's no separate autoplay button. Instead, hold down the spin button to activate continuous spins. The game tells you this in the bet selection screen ("AUTO SPIN - Hold down Spin button to activate"), but it's easy to miss. Release to stop autoplay at any time.
Click the hamburger menu (three lines, top left) to access Settings. You'll find several practical controls here:
The quick play toggle makes a real difference to session speed if you're planning a longer play session.
The blue "X-iter™" button (bottom left) opens the bonus buy menu. This gives you five purchase options rather than waiting for features to trigger naturally:
X-iter costs range from €0.60 minimum to €50,000 maximum. The feature's only available in base game—you can't buy another feature mid-round.
Your balance and current bet stay visible at all times in the bottom corners. The game uses standard ELK Studios interface design, so if you've played other ELK slots, the controls will feel familiar.
Purple Bird
Red-Orange Bird
Blue Bird
Green Bird
Pirots 4 centres around four birds in spacesuits who move across the grid collecting symbols. Each bird has a distinct appearance: the purple bird wears a standard spacesuit with transparent helmet, the red-orange bird has an antenna attached to its helmet, the blue bird sports a blue-coloured spacesuit, and the green bird wears protective goggles. These birds collect gems matching their own colour plus all feature symbols.
Red Hexagon
Purple Hexagon
Green Diamond
Blue Circle
The gems come in four types, each with a different shape for easy identification. Red gems are hexagons, purple gems are hexagons, green gems are diamonds, and blue gems are circles. All gems can be upgraded through seven payout levels, visually progressing from dark to bright intensity.
The following table shows payouts for each gem type across all seven levels (values shown as multiples of your bet):
| Symbol | Level 7 | Level 6 | Level 5 | Level 4 | Level 3 | Level 2 | Level 1 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Red hexagon | 6.00 | 1.25 | 0.40 | 0.15 | 0.08 | 0.05 | 0.02 |
| Purple hexagon | 3.60 | 1.00 | 0.32 | 0.12 | 0.06 | 0.04 | 0.02 |
| Green diamond | 2.00 | 0.75 | 0.24 | 0.09 | 0.05 | 0.03 | 0.01 |
| Blue circle | 1.50 | 0.50 | 0.16 | 0.06 | 0.03 | 0.02 | 0.01 |
The Wild appears as a golden letter W and substitutes for any gem at their current payout level. Birds can't finish a symbol collection on a Wild – if a bird lands on one, it moves into an empty position instead.
Bonus symbols show a golden skull with "BONUS" text. Collect three of these during a game round and you trigger the free drops bonus game with 5 free drops.
Super Bonus symbols display a golden skull with "SUPER BONUS" text. If one of your three collected bonus symbols is a super bonus, you trigger the enhanced super bonus game instead.
Golden hexagonal coins land with values of 5x, 10x, 25x, 100x, 500x, or 1000x your bet. When a bird collects a coin, its value is paid immediately. There's also a MAX WIN coin that instantly pays whatever's needed to reach the maximum win cap.
Standard upgrade symbols show numbers 1, 2, or 3 and upgrade the payout level of one gem type by that many steps.
Upgrade All symbols appear golden and also show 1, 2, or 3. These upgrade all four gem types simultaneously by the indicated number of steps.
Black Hole appears as a black void with purple-blue glowing rings around it. When collected, it activates after birds can't collect more symbols. The Black Hole absorbs everything on the grid – all symbols and birds – then throws them back in different positions. It can remove one, two, or three birds from play. When birds are removed, all gems matching the removed bird's colour transform into the colour of one or more returning birds.
Spacecorn looks like a popcorn box with corn kernel eyes. When collected, it fills empty grid spaces with Spacecorn pieces, letting birds cross empty areas once to reach additional symbol clusters.
Transform is a green sphere with a mechanical arm. When collected, it transforms a cluster of gems next to the collecting bird into that bird's colour. It may also convert some gems into feature symbols.
Four circular mechanical devices sit at each corner of the 6x6 grid. At the start of each round, each corner bomb is assigned a random bird colour. When a bird collects a symbol on its matching coloured bomb, the bomb detonates. This removes a 3x3 area, expands the grid (up to 8x8 maximum), and removes a section of the space station frame.
The metallic frame surrounding the grid acts as a tunnel system once corner sections are removed by bombs. If a bird can collect symbols at both the entrance and exit of a tunnel, it moves through the tunnel. Each tunnel section can reveal up to two feature symbols, which the bird collects while passing through.
Once the grid reaches maximum 8x8 size and a corner section is removed, a space portal appears in that corner. These portals glow with cyan blue light. Birds can teleport between portals if collectable symbols sit on top of two or more portals.
When three or more birds end up horizontally or vertically adjacent and can't collect more symbols, they trigger a Power Clash. The birds smash together at one position, removing all symbols in a 5x5 area from the clash point. The birds then fly away horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Corner bombs, Alien Invasion, Black Hole, coins, bonus symbols, and super bonus symbols aren't removed or activated if they're in the birds' flight path. Gems are cleared along the flight paths but don't count toward the symbol collection meter.
Two adjacent birds have a random chance to perform a Switcheroo when stuck. If triggered, they swap places horizontally or vertically.
A Space Switcheroo also has a random trigger chance with two adjacent birds. One bird moves to the grid's edge or to the next collectable symbol in its path. Gems that bird can't collect don't add to the collection meter when removed.
Randomly triggered when birds can't collect more symbols. This feature activates one to four corner bombs to keep the action going.
Triggered by collecting three bonus symbols during a game round. You receive 5 free drops. The game starts at whatever grid size you were playing when triggered. Grid size, symbol collection meter progress, and gem payout levels all persist throughout the bonus game. Each bonus symbol collected during free drops awards one additional free drop. If any corner bombs, Alien Invasion, or feature symbol releases are pending when the bonus triggers, they activate during the first free drop.
The bonus game ends when free drops run out or the win cap is reached.
Triggered when one of the three collected bonus symbols is a super bonus symbol. The game starts on an 8x8 grid and all upgrade symbols affect all four gem types simultaneously. Five free drops are awarded, with the same rules as the regular bonus game applying.
Triggered when the entire game grid clears during the Spacecorn feature. The game plays on an 8x8 grid with 3 drops to start. Landing coins or bridge symbols resets the drop counter back to 3. The game continues until drops run out or the win cap is reached.
Triggered when a bird collects the PRESS button (a red button symbol). The Space Bandit character collects symbols column by column across the grid, triggering features as it goes. When the Space Bandit meets a bird, a space duel is initiated. Winning duels increases the Space Bandit spaceship multiplier. If the bonus game triggers during an Alien Invasion, it's guaranteed to be a super bonus.
Five bonus buy options are available in the base game:
Guaranteed super bonus game entry. All free drops play at maximum 8x8 grid size with all upgrade symbols affecting all gems.
Guaranteed regular bonus game entry.
Direct entry to the coin game.
One drop with Alien Invasion feature triggered. Super bonus is guaranteed if the bonus game triggers.
One drop with quadruple the normal chance to trigger the bonus game.
The X-iter cost ranges from €0.60 minimum to €50,000.00 maximum. All X-iter modes maintain the same 94.0% RTP as base game.
The maximum win is capped at 10,000x your bet. When this cap is reached, the game round ends immediately and pays out all wins collected to that point.
ELK Studios builds mechanic dynasties rather than one-off slots. They're the studio that releases Pirots, then iterates it four more times in two years—each version refining the collecting birds system like a game designer perfecting a craft. With 145+ games since 2013, they've turned sequel-making into an art form. Series like Cygnus, Nitropolis and Tropicool each run 4-5 deep, constantly evolving their mathematical cores.
